morning babble / Friday 07-15-22
This is the scribble that leads to the babble. Sometimes, it gets tidied up; but other times, not so much. When all else fails: watch the video!
Fast is over
Just a quick recap of the 3-Day Fast. Went well. I thoroughly enjoy them too. Again, that was my 19th month in a row of having a 3-Day Fast. I honestly look forward to them. It’s not just a physical reset, but a mindful one, too. More self-control. Except with Peanut Butter.
170 days until EXIT PLAN
Last weekend, Rage Against the Machine performed for the first time live in 11 years. I couldn’t make it out that way. BUT – apparently, lead singer – Zach hurt himself during the 2nd concert in Chicago and had to sit during parts of the show. No further updates, but they appear to be marching onwards. By the way, their opener is Run the Jewels
New Music Friday:
- Full record drop today from Lizzo – it’s her 4th studio album and called Special. We already got the songs: “About Damn Time” and “Grrrls” (no I, 3 R’s). Apparently when she was writing the album, she started out with around 200 songs – we got 12 of them – about 35 minutes of music. It appears that they are pushing “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)” as the latest single. Jumping around, I listened to “Naked” because . . . naked? “Break Up Twice” which was produced by Mark Ronson. “Everybody’s Gay” and “Birthday Girl” – good ones, too.
- We got another new song today from Death Cab (for Cutie). It’s called “Here to Forever” and there’s a video out as well. (you just saw a little blip of it). The band’s 10th album – Asphalt Meadows is due out Sept. 16th. I’ve said this before but Death Cab holds a special place in my heart. Their album PLANS was the first album I ever downloaded onto my iPod, which is now extinct. I listened to the junk out of that album though.
- We got the third single from Calvin Harris’ upcoming LP: Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 — full album drop on Aug. 5th. Today’s new track is called “Stay with Me” and features Halsey, Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams. Not too shabby. The video at the time of this recording was not fully released yet. The majority of you could probably go catch it now though by clicking here. With Halsey, Timberlake, and Pharrell – you gotta have a video.
- Lastly, Pink dropped her latest song “Irrelevant”. Certain court decision got her mad. She teased the song earlier this week with postings on social media. Napkin with scribbled out lyrics. Statement of “Woke up. Got heated. Wrote song.” It’s a good song. That’s all I’m saying. “Irrelevant” by Pink.
