This is the scribble that leads to the babble.
Sometimes, it gets tidied up; other times, not so much.
When all else fails: there’s video!

New Music Friday:
Jumping right into it – NEW MUSIC FRIDAY – as always, I put together a Spotify playlist of the songs that I talked about and thought about today for New Music Friday. Click here for that!
- First up – I played this at the very beginning (Blood in the Cut) So aggressive – that’s K. Flay from 2017. “Blood in the Cut” – another one that I’ve enjoyed running to (clip) Today, we have 4 of the songs that will appear on the 6-pack song set called I’m Making Friends with the Silence (“Punisher”) This EP includes “softer” versions of songs off her MONO album from 2023, which received its name after she lost hearing in her right ear. Because of this, she has difficulty listening to loud music. Hence, as she states on her Spotify page – she’s in her softer era (“Perfectly Alone” clip)
- We have a California native and hip-hop culture icon (“It Was A Good Day”) that’s right – Ice Cube has his 1st solo album in just under 6 years – Man Down – dropping on November 22nd – 2 Fridays from now. (“It’s My Ego” clip) “It’s My Ego” was the 1st release off of this project from last month. Today, we get a slight remix to the song along with some help from Killer Mike and Busta Rhyme – slight title change to – “Ego Maniacs” (clip)
- Received an email from Myles Smith – it was a group email, not personally (“Stargazing”). In that email though, Myles stated “This EP is deeply personal to me—it’s about connections, time, and the spaces in between moments that we often overlook.” Yeah,he has a new EP out (“Wait for You”) 7 songs in all under the title “A Minute . . . ” from Myles Smith. We’ve actually already heard half of the music. But today, we’ve get the other half like the song “Nice to Meet You” (clip)
- Several quick hits of new music: Birthday Girl, Ella Mai, released a surprise 3 EP – it’s titled 3 – why? Well, it has 3 brand new songs on it. That’s 3 from Ella Mai – Happy Birthday // The final single from THE THE’s Ensoulment album was released. It’s a double-A side featuring the songs “Risin’ Above The Need” and “Where Do We Go When We Die?” – that’s a question that got me in trouble as a kid at Confirmation Class // This one popped up on my phone when I was on the Spotify app. I clicked and I liked (“Brother”) That’s new music from Flycatcher called “Brother.” Still investigating them // Albert Hammond is known for hit songs that he’s written for the likes fo Celine Dion, Willie Nelson, and Ace of Base (“Don’t Turn Around”) Today though – Albert Hammond has released his very own and first Christmas Album creatively titled “Christmas” 13 classic songs like this one (“Rudolph”)
Thank you to Spotify, Rolling Stone, Apple Music, uDiscoverMusic, Pigeons & Planes, Pitchfork, Louder, Spill Magazine, Dan Deluca of the Philly Inquirer & I know there’s more.
Be sure to check out the playlist on Spotify. As I mentioned in the beginning, it’s a playlist of songs that I’ve talked about and thought about. AND – anything that I really messed up and missed – well, that’s why I’ll be doing Missed Music Monday on Monday.
Please subscribe on YouTube and spread the Babble wherever you can – Thank you!
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“Truth is the ultimate power. When the truth comes around, all the lies have to run and hide.” – by Ice Cube (clip)
