Welcome to Day #2 of the 3 Day Fast – the longest day. No end in sight is being felt. Your body has caught on to what you’re doing, so the senses are getting stronger – scent / taste. Driving along, mouth begins to water because it’s already reacting to the smell your nose has picked up on – a Burger King – about a mile down the road. Finally, the brain puts it altogether.

Welcome to AMA Wednesday –
Via someone – “How do you write down your ideas?”
The app that I use to sort of “file away my ideas” is Evernote – I love that app. Use it on the phone and the computer. I’ve grown with it over the years, so I realize that there are similar ones out there, but Evernote is the winner for me.
I’m still old school though with writing some things down.

3 Day Fast is underway – like I said yesterday, I dropped the boy off to baseball, hit the Burger King nearby, then came back to the field, but instead of getting out for all to see, I sat in my Jeep and inhaled the burger, fries, and Dr. Pepper. I actually grabbed Reese’s PB Cups from home for a quick dessert. I really packed it in before hitting the start fast button at 6:19PM. So . . . that’s when I can eat again on Thursday – 6:19PM.
I wish I had something new to explain with fasting. I really do enjoy these monthly 3 day fasts – pretty much look forward to them. My body always feels good after the reset AND it builds up my self-control again. 18th month in a row for a 3 Day Fast.
Packing lunch is easy. Water. One day during a fast I had forgotten my lunch bag. Whatever to do! I hit a Wawa, but there are choices in water like the SUPERCHARGED IONIZED ALKALINE WATER. One day I forgot my black coffee. That was sad.

I ran.
Didn’t break any records but I got to see a couple friends – Greg & Julie. Plus, I had my wife and kids making me feel like Superman at the end. That’s always the best. I couldn’t imagine actually being good and having your family at the end. Bryce Harper crushes those home runs, looks into the stands and family screams your the best as well as the rest of the 30k people at the stadium.

New Music Friday:
I look hard for new music – good new music, too. So, when I miss an album by someone that I really enjoy listening to . . . I get really bummed. Allan Rayman came out with a new album back on March 18th called Roadhouse 02. Just heard it yesterday. If you haven’t heard of him, go deep on that one – lots of stuff to turn over.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs – the trio is back with their first new song since 2013. The song is called “Spitting Off the Edge of the World”. It’s from their forthcoming fifth album, Cool It Down, which gets its name from a Velvet Underground track. Full album drop on September 30th. There’s also a video for the song – click here. Might have spitting in the name of the song, but no spitting by lead singer Karen O . . . only in concert form does she do that. (video) On stage, she downs like a pint of beer and then sprays it back out in a fine mist. By the way – that wasn’t easy to find. You “google” spitting and then the name Karen . . . O.
Megan Thee Stallion has released the official music video for her new song “Plan B.” (video) There, I think that’s all I can play. The song was previously previewed at her 2022 Coachella debut and features track samples of Jodeci and Wu-Tang’s “Freak’n You Remix.” Go off by yourself, put the ear buds in, and enjoy – Megan Thee Stallion.
New Post Malone album today – It’s been three long years since his last album, Hollywood’s Bleeding and the Posties are hungry. I’m not sure if “Posties” is a thing or not . . . “Swifties” probably don’t like that though. Anyway – Album is called Twelve Carat Toothache and is Post Malone’s fourth studio album. We already got his single with the Weekend, “One Right Now.” The single being pushed today is the one with Doja Cat ” I Like You” (video) You hear that “We went over to France, then we woke up in Japan” – that’s some hook-up. Anway – full album drop – over 40 minutes of music spread out over 14 songs. Enjoy!
Got a whole lot of new music coming from hard rocker, Shinedown. Set to be released on July 1stst is their 7th full-length studio album: Planet Zero. Apparently there is a whopping twenty new songs on it – a couple have already been released. The majority of this record is drums, bass, guitar, but there are piano songs and they released one today – “Daylight.” Wonderful song – there’s almost a hint of Elton John happening. Not knocking either one – it’s just something I’m hearing . . . and I like. (video). Lead singer, Brent Smith, just grabs you and pulls you in with his vocal storytelling. By the way, great name, Brent.

I googled “Chicken Butt”
Guess what Chicken Butt Origin So, where does “guess what chicken butt” come from? The origin of the saying dates back to the 14th century. Back in these times, butchers would take the undesirable cuts of meat, like the shoulders, into barrels – known as “butts.”
Another website that goes even deeper explains: “The retort’s origins are usually speculated to have come from a practice common to street merchants when they would call out what they were offering and how much it cost. One particularly delicious item was advertised as: Chicken butt! Five cents a cut!“
And yet another website, says it’s part of a nursery rhyme?
Guess what? What? Chicken butt!
It keeps going!
Guess why? Why? Chicken thigh!
Guess where? Where? Chicken hair!
Guess when? When? Chicken hen!
And then ends with:
Guess who? Who? Chicken poo!

To my parents – it’s Wedding Anniversary #51. Last year, I sadly learned it was #50 when I texted them “Happy Anniversary” that evening. My mom responded about them eating dinner outside somewhere and . . . oh yeah . . . big 50.

Today’s highlight – I’m going to get me some of that Peanut Butter Fudge Coffee at Wawa. Non-Fat French Vanilla creamer in the bottom. Delish. Employees went nuts and applauding me when I picked it. They were all like – “It’s the greatest ever.” One girl said that if I liked it with the Vanilla creamer, I should try it with Hot Chocolate in the bottom and then add the coffee – it’s like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Coffee.

LoCarb & Meaty May Recap
* I’m sorry I got away from the daily postings of what I ate. The school shooting occurred last Tuesday and I just didn’t feel it was important to get something like that up. Instead, I couldn’t wait for my family to come home that day from school.
* The food – I enjoyed some of the changes: purchased some bone broth, pork rinds, but then to mix it up some I had snack packs of olives – both green and black.
* Overall feeling was good – not sure if that had more to do with the workouts that I was doing or not, but I certainly felt more positive about myself. I mean, for March, I gained nearly 10 lbs and felt the “puffy.”
* I was eating so much in March and just never felt “full” at times. My days in May – I would be amazed at some of the days how little I had eaten but didn’t even think of food.
* Weight +/- for the month is -14.1 lbs when compared to 5/1 weigh-in
* Now, I think one of the biggest differences between March and May is that I want to continue with this eating style. Maybe venture towards more meat.

Yesterday – I made a memory. That’s what life is all about – Making Memories – and I believe I succeeded yesterday. I was mystery reader for my daughter’s class. The look on her face and then the embracing hug immediately afterwards – I know that I’ll forever have.

LoCARB & MEATY MAY still happening and still feeling really good. My +/- with poundage for the month is now at -13.8 lbs since May 1st. On Sunday, I’ll do the Bring Sally Up Push-up Challenge on Sunday – update that on Monday. I’m at 18 up.
New Music Friday:
I got really excited this morning. Spotify creates a “Release Radar” that pulls new music which is related to what you are listening to. They always have a picture to go with that playlist. I saw Run the Jewels and was psyched. But – it’s not really all that new – it’s a remix from Phil Spectro (I know who Phil Spector is – not that guy) – again Phil Spectro. He redid the Run the Jewels song – “Nobody Speak.” It’s fine. I mean, it’s good. I do like the original – it’s one that I have run to a lot, so that one is embedded into my head.
M.I.A. came out of hiding? Sorry. But – she is back with a new single called “One.” In an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe of the new track. “I’d got to a place that was really happy. I did want to make that nice, happy record.” So, maybe some happy music from M.I.A. – as to when we get the whole album – not sure, but it is called MATA.
So, last night at midnight – Blackbear along with Machine Gun Kelly released a new video for their song – “gfy”. Some people will think that stands for “good for you” – it doesn’t. Catchy song that you don’t want your 6-year-old to be singing along to – so, you’ve been warned. Funny video and naughty – click here for that.
JD McPherson (Sock Hop? or Rock Hop?) has digitally released a cover song for each month this year. Today he adds to that list with a cover of Irma Thomas’ “It’s Raining.” He’s got 5 songs in all and digitally he calls them The Warm Covers EP, Vol 2 but a physical edition of The Warm Covers including additional bonus tracks is planned for release sometime in 2023. This summer, J.D. is touring with Robert Plant & Alison Krauss – and that would be an awesome show to see.
By the way – I’m still listening to Harry’s House from Harry Styles came out last week – that’s a good album. Also, still enjoying Kendrick Lamar‘s latest which came out 2 weeks ago. Not sure what from this week is going to stick like those, but we shall see.
