Lady Gaga has announced “Hold My Hand,” a new song that she made for the new Tom Cruise movie Top Gun: Maverick. We got a snippet of the song. Clip. That’s it. That’s all we got. The single—out Tuesday, May 3rd. The movie – out May 27th
New Music Friday:
The Bieber Boy – Justin – joined up with Don Toliver for the new single “Honest”. And, of course, there’s also a video that dropped too. But what do you do when you’re a good looking dude in Hollywood – that’s right – you cover up your face. (Video). Nice orange mask – I kid about Jusin Bieber but he really is doing a lot of good in the world with his tour – raising awareness on important issues like criminal justice reform, climate action, voter registration, and now, mental health awareness. Via Yahoo entertainment, the “Biebs” and online therapy platform, BetterHelp, have partnered to provide free access to therapy for Justin’s 250+ person touring crew and for his millions of fans, the latter of which BetterHelp has committed mental health services of up to $3,000,000 in value.
Wilco announced a new album will be released on May 27th called Cruel Country. But today, we get a new single from them: “Falling Apart (Right Now)”. Apparently, this new album was almost entirely composed of live takes recorded at the Loft in Chicago—a method not employed by Wilco since recording Sky Blue Sky. Last week, I mentioned that Wilco announced multiple deluxe reissue editions of their 2002 Yankee Hotel Foxtrot in honor of the album’s 20th anniversary. The super deluxe edition includes 82 previously unreleased tracks. That’s not out until September 16th. But again today, you can go enjoy their newest single “Falling Apart (Right Now)”
We get a whole new album drop from Future today – titled: I Never Liked You. There’s 16 tracks, it includes features from Young Thug and Gunna with the song “For a Nut” and a pair of appearances from Drake “I’m on One” and the other single which is being pushed today on Spotify “Wait for U”. There’s also a video that was released at midnight for the song featuring Kanye West and Future “Keep It Burnin” was released last night. (Video) As you can see, there’s a covering up your face theme happening. Whole Future album today.
We got a new song from Sam Smith – not necessarily my jam or a sound that I double click on, but the guy is talented and this song is very well done with a solid message. The song is called “Love Me More.” But the lyrics . . . I’m going to read some: “Have you ever felt like being somebody else? / Feeling like the mirror isn’t good for your health? / Every day I’m tryin’ not to hate myself / But lately it’s not hurtin’ like it did before / Maybe I am learning how to love me more.” Video. See good stuff there from Sam Smith.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVE!

Working on my plans for May – like packing a snowball. So many goals, but not one overall theme. This past March – I called it Meatless March / April Drought – didn’t drink alcohol for the month / Cold Showers in July / Muddy November
No Carbs / Low Carb / Meat / Push Up Challenge / Jiu-Jitsu / Maybe an overall theme of Kicking the Dad Bod.
Although, if I go on to TikTok and see all these women saying how they love the men with the Dad Bods . . . hmm – maybe I am yummy.

So – Elon Musk – you’ve had to have heard of this guy by now. Oh, Twitter World. Gonna be a ride over there. I just found out that Walter Isaacson who is one of my favorite authors – he wrote Benjamin Franklin – An American Life – I read it. I listened to his biography on Steve Jobs as well as The Code Breaker: Jennifer Doudna, Gene Editing, and the Future of the Human Race – that was a crazy one because of how it came out during the middle of the pandemic and how important it was for the vaccines to be made. Anyway – Mr. Isaacson is doing the life of Elon Musk – middle of it right now. Only the middle.

PODCAST TUESDAY!
I use Overcast App for my podcasts and they just changed the layout of how they list and store your apps. Initially, I wasn’t liking it initially, but they tweaked something that made me happy again. I track around 34 podcasts right now and that’s too much. It’s like your email box holding over 1000 emails. I don’t have one to truly highlight today, but when I get behind and I don’t fell like following any of the news. Tim Ferriss.

New Music Friday:
The Fratellis – Half Drunk Under a Full Moon Digital Deluxe Edition. I played their song “Six Days in June” – 372 times last year. I’m telling you it feels like my theme music for Morning Babble, but nobody gets to hear it. According to Spotify, I was in the top 0.0005% of their listeners for 2021. Yo – Fratellis – send some love this way.
Megan Thee Stallion dropped a new song today – “Plan B”. She scares me. She sings how she’s “Popping Plan Bs ’cause I don’t plan to be stuck with ya.”

Teachings of Spicoli
I’ve talked about “I’m gonna” – can’t stand the person that keeps saying “I’m gonna” and then . . . they never do it. Makes it so much worse.
Then, there’s the “I don’t know” person. Clip. I learned a long time ago with Fast Times at Ridgemont High that “I don’t know” was never a good thing to say. Mr. Hand clip.
These things both keep happening. Drives me nuts. So, what do I do.
