Ahhhhh – new music – that actually arrived last Friday from Martin Luke Brown. An entire album called man oh man! I’ve listened through several times today. Makes a good chill, relaxing sound as I deal with paperwork.

missed music Monday / Monday 02-24-25

Couple months ago, I realized that I had missed on a song released from British rocker Sam Fender and his – at that point in time – upcoming new album called: People Watching.

This all means that I should have known that this past Friday the whole album was dropping

This is Sam Fender’s third studio album, a collection of songs that locks in on the daily grind, the everyday dramas, and the oddball characteristics of the people he knows.

I’ve spun it now like 3 or 4x – The song “People Watching” is still one of my favorites – sorta reminds me of a Gaslight Anthem song, but I’m also enjoying “Arm’s Length” and “Remember My Name”.

new music friday / Friday 02-21-25

New Music Friday:

• End of last year, I talked about the Indie-Hop sounding band: Noshows (“Portrait”) I also mentioned how the band isn’t just putting out good music , they’re also helping people navigate anxiety through music and pop-up events – the community is called: Magnify the Mind. I’ll provide a link (clip) “Used To It” was the first release off the new EP called Tightrope which is all hanging out today. Song being pushed on Spotify is “Pieces” (clip)

• I talked about this duo just a couple weeks ago (“Tell ‘Em”) – I really like that song. I apologize for playing it too much. The band is Sleigh Bells and they went on to release their first new music in basically 3 years (clip) New song is called “Wanna Start A Band?” They have since announced their sixth album – Bunky Becky Birthday Boy – will be shared to us all on Friday, April 11th. But today – we do get another song from that upcoming record called “Bunky Pop” (clip)

• Remember that band Mumford & Sons (“Little Lion Man”). They’ve actually done several albums since this first glorious one. One of my first vinyl albums to get me back into vinyl. (“The Cave”) If you watched the SNL 50th Anniversary Concert, you got to see the guys performed their hit song from 2012 – “I Will Wait” (“I Will Wait”) Fast Forward to January 17th – yes, last month and we received our first taste of the upcoming album – Rushmere – with the title track song – “Rushmere” (“Rushmere”) And now today – we get our 2nd helping called “Malibu” – ooo, Rushmere – their 5th studio album fully drops on March 28th. (“Malibu”)

• Several quick hits of new music: This would have been a good one for Missed Music Monday – didn’t realize that The Wombats released a full album last week. They did. It’s called “Oh! The Ocean” – you should go listen to it as well. // Fontaines D.C. had one of the best albums of the year for 2024 with the release of Romance. And the Dublin band is already back with a new song: “It’s Amazing To Be Young”. Video arrives over the weekend. // Yet again another band that fell off my radar (“That’s Not My Name”) Well, their name is The Ting Tings and they have a new album coming out next Friday. I missed this song release from last October. A little chill sounding – “Danced on the Wire” (clip)

I worship the java bean but come the 3rd day of any 3-Day Fast – coffee just begins to taste horrible to me. I was having serious issues at the end there just everything was tasting bad in my mouth like coffee, water and water.

After this recent fast, I’ve already noticed some better constraint on my part like I saw a jar of peanut butter this morning and I thought nope I should not have 9 spoonfuls. By the way, 5K Every Day continues on – a little rough today, but I did it.
