Friday Eve
Toothpaste tasted so good this morning. Definitely a little slower this morning. I need to pace myself. Day 3 of the 3 Day Fast. Run completed though without any real hardships – #259 of 5K runs for the year.
Last night – I was “hangry” and snapped a little with the kids. Felt so bad. I caught myself though and snuggled with my daughter and probably hugged my son more than he wanted. Been a rough work, but I try to not bring that home.

Day 2 of the 3 Day Fast / 1st day ended and I really felt good. Morning run on the mill was good – #258. I did NOT enjoy my water and cucumber yesterday. Not sure why, but I pulled that stuff today. I just made sure I iced up one of my waters up. Hot one. You know what that means – this is when I should have a sound drop of my daughter asking “why are the girls’ shirts so short?” I do have to pick up kids again today, so I’m sure that there will be some backseat commentary. I’ll keep you posted. BUT – I’m picking them up because my wife is staying for her class that is in-person this evening. I have to feed the kids. Cook them up some chicken nuggets and mac & cheese – every daddy’s go-to. You know how good that’s going to smell to me.
6:47pm Thursday – I can eat again.
Still tweaking my morning routine – found this app that helps me tally up all my little “to-dos”. I’m already beginning to understand why I leave for work as late as I do at times. I plan on going over that this Saturday.

Picked up my kids from school yesterday. Driving through the college town of Newark for the University of Delaware – on a warm day.
3 Day Fast is on – I can’t eat until Thursday evening at 6:47pm – again, this is my 9th fast of the year. Resetting my system to help with allergies, but I won’t lie, I was feeling a little puffy lately. Also, my self control around some foods . . . I was having big muffins for breakfast, lots of Pumpkin Spice somethings already, going back for 2nds. My running allows me to eat fairly without a worry. BUT – if I keep this up, I’ll have to do 5K twice a day every day. Don’t worry that’s not going to be a yearly goal.
Speaking of 5Ks – I did my 257th in a row
NFT – Non Fungible Token
I listened to the podcast Modern Finance with Kevin Rose. He had on Tyler Hobbs who designs NFTs and Art Blocks.

#256 on the mill / 5K run every day
The Dave Chang Show podcast is back. I totally enjoyed that on the mill. They were on hiatus and I didn’t know that they had come back. Reading his book.
Worcestershire Sauce – he butchers it. Had to listen to it asap because of tonight’s start of my 3 Day Fast – 9th one of the year. Last night, we actually pulled my fast breaking meal and ate that for dinner. Ribs and beer.

Forgive me – I’m a little all over the place today in my head. I did run. #254. Did it on the mill. It’s a beautiful day outside, but my allergies are just getting used to all this ragweed and I was up throughout the night. Why my wife tolerates that . . . well, when she’s asleep, she’s asleep. Ragweed goes away (for the most part) with the first frost – bring it on.
It’s 9/11 and we all know about what happened 20 years ago. Never forget – very true. Don’t ever forget, but sometimes reliving all the sad – I’m not so sure – at least for myself. We all deal with loss in different ways. So, today’s a day I listen a lot. If you want to talk about it, I’m here. I don’t really want to tell my story about where I was during that point of time – because it was rather insignificant to where some people were that day whose lives were lost or with people who directly lost their husbands, wives, children, or best of friends that day. Don’t ever forget.
Today is also my sister-in-law’s birthday. Happy Birthday, Danielle. I love you and I hope you have a wonderful special day. Make sure Keith gives you an extra long “why is he still squeezing me” hug from me. Happy Birthday to anyone else who’s day is today. Happy Anniversary to anyone who was married on this day. It’s still your day. Enjoy the now!
And then lastly – today has been looked forward to in this household because we are getting a pet bird. My son is. He saved for it. It’s no parakeet. It’s a Jenday Conure. Hatched back in July. No name yet. I’m thinking Byrd . . . with a “y”. I had a morning guy named “Byrd”. Hopefully by tomorrow, we’ll have an official name though. I got a recent picture of “Byrd”:
Typically, I answer questions today and I was going to break down my morning routine. I felt that should just be held off for now until next week.

Where are you Rolling Stone with music reviews? You get like two in this recent issue. However, I am enjoying the Silk Sonic interview with Anderson Paak and Bruno Mars.
I did listen to the Soup Dragons this past week – Love God. Today, I’m going to listen to their
Hotwired – Subsequent albums continued in the band’s own style and in 1992, they enjoyed their biggest US hit with “Divine Thing” which reached No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100.[4] It also hit No. 3 on the Modern Rock chart and its video was nominated by MTV as one of the year’s best,[6] though beaten by Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”.[
This Sunday night is the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards – remember that? Still happening, host Doja Cat, Kacey Musgraves, Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Foo Fighters, and Jack Harlow. Isn’t that what set off Russell Brand.
I ran – 253 – 5K runs for the year on day #253
And the Evans family gets a new pet tomorrow.
New Music Friday:
In conjunction with their 30th-anniversary reissue of The Black Album, Metallica are releasing today – The Metallica Blacklist. Benefiting various charities. After months and month of releases, it’s a 53-track, four-hour compilation of different artists covering Black Album songs. Artists include: Phoebe Bridgers, Weezer, St. Vincent, J Balvin, Miley Cyrus, and the Neptunes.
Several weeks ago, we got “Visiting Hours” from Ed Sheeran. Before that, it was “Bad Habits.” Both off of his upcoming his fifth studio album, = (pronounced equals), to be released on October 29th. Today, we get “Shivers” – that’s a good sounding pop song.
Via Pitchfork, I read that Kacey Musgraves stated: “I wasn’t going to be a real country artist without at least one divorce under my belt.” She filed for divorce last summer and today has a new album out – Star Crossed. billed as a “tragedy in three parts” – you get 15 tracks.
Lana Del Rey’s next studio album Blue Banisters will arrive October 22. We also got to hear the LP’s latest single, “Arcadia.” AND – there is a self directed video for it – click here.
Eddie Vedder – the Pearl Jam frontman – has shared “Long Way,” the first single from his forthcoming solo album Earthling. He hasn’t had a solo album in ten years. I enjoyed the chill sound from Ukulele Songs and this song “Long Way” appears that way too – minus the ukulele sound.

Friday Eve!
I don’t think I complain about too many things on here – mainly because I’m trying to help set a good tone for the day for myself and for anyone watching. BUT – this one gripe I think is good advice too. When you get a voicemail message from someone, listen to it before calling that person back.
It’s voicemail, just listen. Otherwise, it’s simply poor usage of modern everyday technology.

Every one crashed on me early last night. So much so, I thought it was like 11pm or midnight. First day of school brought them all to sleep time fast. I forgot how much that school does that to my family. With Zoom – the kids are still bouncing off the walls afterwards. With actual school, they so tired!
MagMind – 6 hours sleep / broken down :38 min Deep, 2:58 Light, :15 Awake, & 2:25 REM

Welcome to Not Monday / Happy New Year to my Jewish friends. Summer – all done after yesterday’s holiday. We actually visited White Clay Creek State Park. Old people busting a move make me smile. The Reggae Music made me remember Soup Dragons “I’m Free.” Going to listen to that album (Lovegod) today.
I ran / #250 of 5K runs in a row for the year.
On the mill, I enjoyed the Kevin Rose Show, who actually has two other podcasts going on – one for cryptocurrency and the other one for NFTs. But this show – just for regular people like us. He had Mathew Walker on who wrote Why We Sleep. He has changed his tune slightly with coffee intake. Stresses that coffee can be good, but pick the timing and dosage of the poison. Make sure you have it a good 10 to 12 hours before bed. AND – you can have up to 3 cups of coffee. Trying to determine the true “cup” of coffee is all over the place though. A cup = 8 oz. But, some people credit a cup of coffee to being 6 oz. The old Mr. Coffee measurements on the side of the pot used to be close to 5 oz. I deem my travel mug an official “cup”. That’s 16 oz though . . . probably shouldn’t have three of those.
