This past week I talked about wishing that I could read more, but since I’m writing more – I don’t have the time. So, I removed Twitter and TikTok from my phone. Instagram still there.
I can still check Twitter and TikTok on my laptop and I’ll still post there. It’s just not on my phone anymore.
Please subscribe on YouTube and spread the Babble wherever you can – Thank you!

Welcome to Tuesday – Go Vote! Tomorrow is a favorite day – all the political signs get taken down AND all the TV political commercials go away – yesssssssssssssssssss.
3-Day Fast is underway / I can eat again on Thursday at 6:42PM / My Dunkin streak of Cookie Butter Cold Brew ends at 5 days in a row. BUT – the one made for me yesterday was horrible. Well, it was still good, but compared to my prior 4 days. I was so bummed. It was a bad Dunkin location. We hit there around 3:15pm – they close at 5pm. Already – no donuts, muffins, bagels, nothing was available. The dude looked so mad that we walked in and kept talking on his phone the entire time taking the order. The actual drink lacked the cookie crumbles on top of the foam. AND – they didn’t have the proper lid that you drink through. No, they gave you the one with the hole in the center (Coolatta?) and told us to get a straw. You don’t want to enjoy this beverage that way. I removed the top and enjoyed it that way because you want a sip of the cookie cream on top prior to the cold brew. Using the straw – it doesn’t work that way. If that was my first one . . . I think my streak would have been 1.

PODCAST TUESDAY!
I have the meditation app called “Waking Up” from Sam Harris – author, philosopher, podcaster, not the singer.
Several months ago, I purchased it for the year, because I was doing the meditate every day goal in July. That was a good month – nice and chill.
Within the app, Sam does interviews, but he also has guests put out a series on a certain topic. Oliver Burkeman put together this series called “Time Management for Mortals” – I gobbled that up as he helps us “end our struggle with time.”
“Need to learn to say no to things that you do want to do” – Oliver Burkeman.
Basically, you only have one life and you can’t do it all.

Happy Monday – back at it!
By way – all weekend, I wrote each day. Even after the Phillies lost the World Series on Saturday night. Plenty of beverages in and wanting bed badly – I still wrote.
Beginning my 3-Day Fast tonight after dinner. I so need this for so many reasons. The primary one is my recent addiction to the Cookie Butter Cold Brew from Dunkin. That’s a dessert in a cup. I will get one more today . . . because I can.

GOAL SETTING MONDAY & REVIEW –
Last week, I had 4 paperwork days. The most that I have had in a long, long time. I am the most caught up and the most prepared for this upcoming week. BUT – I still was digging into work whenever I had spare moments this weekend. I didn’t mean for it to be that way, but I continued finding myself cracking open the laptop to do something for work – not for me personally, not the book, not other writing, but work for the business.
I’m having trouble stopping it. For the most part, I’ve done all the proper things with my phone settings. People can’t reach out to me late – but there are “emergency” ways. I don’t check email late nor first thing in the morning. I haven’t done it yet today. Baby steps to avoiding the job.
Now, I want to do a good job . . . actually, a great job, but that doesn’t mean it should own me. and THAT has been my battle.
On the flip-side, this forcing me to do 30 minutes of writing every night has been an eye opener for me. 1) I look forward to it. 2) I’m getting something done that I want to get done personally. I enjoy writing this.
What am I getting at? I need to keep creating limitations on work – it’s not healthy for me nor the business. I also need to set minimum limits on the goals for other things that I want to be doing.

Yes – it’s Friday. It’s been warm, so talking about the winter holidays and the new holiday drinks at all the coffee shops. I wasn’t feeling the hot lattes or mochas or whatever. So, I hit up Dunkin for their New Cookie Butter Cold Brew. That’s good stuff. I have no idea how many calories drank within that large beverage but it was worth it. It was glorious.

Oh – speaking of calories: Some of you reached out and were disappointed in me with how I was stealing my kid’s Halloween Candy. Mouthful.
New Music Friday:
Taylor Swift has announced a massive 2023 stadium tour. Begins in March – it’s everywhere.
I put together a Spotify playlist of the songs that I talked about and thought about today for New Music Friday. Click here for that!
“We Are All Insane” says Awolnation. Election Day is Tuesday everyone – just vote – that’s all I’m saying. This is the 2nd release of next year’s anticipated new album, which will be the 5th album from the band, but apparently the final one as well. We’ll see. Frontman Aaron Bruno on the inspiration behind “We Are All Insane,” “I wrote the song during a time when the days of the week felt especially monotonous and I was searching for ways to stay creative and productive. I think that’s a feeling most people have experienced at some point in their lives, especially over the past few years.” Again, the song is called “We Are All Insane” Click here for the video.
Yo La Tengo have a whole new album on the way. It’s titled This Stupid World – it’s out next year on February 10th. Couple days ago, they shared one song from the album called “Fallout,” This Stupid World is the first full-length album from the band since 2020’s We Have Amnesia Sometimes.
Drake and 21 Savage have released their new collaborative album called: Her Loss. 16 tracks spread out over 60 minutes. I’m not the biggest of Drake fans, but I’ll give it a listen in its entirety at some point today or this weekend. I did catch a couple and immediately jumped to the one track done with Travis Scott. Can’t say the title of that song, which sort of gives you the heads up of not listening to this album with certain little people in the car.
Couple months ago we got “Filthy” from Mr. Ayron Jones. Today, we get another single called “Otherside”, but just like before – No news on a whole new album drop in the future. Click here for a video clip of the song. So, that’s two new songs this year – we have to be building towards a full album in 2023. If you haven’t heard it before, check out his prior album called – Child of the State – which was just released last year.
To tease her upcoming release, P!nk put out a little promo video which I saw via her Twitter. Click here for the promo. Within the caption it says “Have you called for your chance to win a free sample?! Dial 1-888-262-PINK” and, as it should, the number works with 3 options. Option #1 – gets you a sneak preview at the time of her new song; Option #2 gets you a text message with a link to get more updates on the song; and my favorite was Option #3 which gives you her tip of the day: “If you’re around someone who sucks all the air out of the room, go to another room.” Yeah, P!NK! The fun-sounding bouncy song is called “Never Gonna Not Dance Again” – click here for that video

HAPPY FRIDAY EVE!
It is such a good thing that I have a 3 Day Fast next week. I am stealing so much candy from my kids. So much. So good, but so much.
Starbucks holiday drinks are out: Peppermint Mocha, which turns 20 years old this holiday; Caramel Brulée Latte; Chestnut Praline Latte; Toasted White Chocolate Mocha; Irish Cream Cold Brew; and the nondairy Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte
Gingerbread Latte and Eggnog Latte – not happening at Starbucks again this year
Dunkin’s Holiday Menu which kicked off yesterday includes a New Cookie Butter Cold Brew. Their specialty drinks include white chocolate signature latte, the peppermint mocha signature latte and the holiday blend coffee.
But again, no G-bread Latte nor Eggnog Latte – so, what to do, what to do – I’m coming for you Brew Haha. I know you’ll take care of me.
All this holiday talk gets people nervous, but in 3 weeks – it’s Turkey Day.
59 days until EXIT PLAN
Last night, I wrote again and that is an example that this bare minimum of 30 minutes every day is working for me. Yesterday is a day that I never would have written on – a week ago.

The worst? Via her seventh album, Lover – it was the song “Me!”

New Music Friday:
I put together a Spotify playlist of the songs that I talked about and thought about today for New Music Friday. Click here for that!
Ending with a Brent favorite and Starting with a Brent favorite – it’s Run the Jewels. Not a truly brand spanking new album, but a new one. Their 4th album RTJ4 is going to be remixed entirely by Latin artists and will be called RTJ Cu4tro – it’s out on November 11th and will feature remixes and new versions of the tracks. I’m still excited. Today, you can hear a new version of “Walking in the Snow,” now titled “Caminando en la Nieve” – click here to listen to it on YouTube. I was afraid to play some clips.
The Atlanta four-piece band – Algiers (al jeerz) are set to return with a new album coming out February 24th. It’s called Shook. I don’t know too much about this band, but they did something that’s going to make me go back and listen to their past albums – they have like three other studio albums. This past week they unveiled a new song called “Irreversible Damage,” featuring Rage Against the Machine bandleader Zack de la Rocha.
Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has had its big time premieres shown. You and I can finally catch it on November 11th. Apparently – they did good and it doesn’t disappoint. Officially released today is Rihanna first solo single in six years – it’s taken from the Black Panther sequel’s soundtrack. The new song is called “Lift Me Up.” Remember, Rihanna is the halftime entertainment at the next Super Bowl.
Violinist Lindsey Stirling has a new album out and it’s Christmas music (play clip) As you can see, the video of the song “Snow Waltz” is showing the transitions from Autumn & Halloween to the winter holiday of Christmas. The Snow Waltz actually came out several weeks ago on October 7th but I waited. Like it or not, on Tuesday – that’s November 1st – you’re going to hear the “Queen of Christmas” – that’s officially Mariah Carey’s new trademark.
Finally, it’s a Brent favorite and as I’ve said before . . . this is one to chill out to in my house library: it’s Ben Cramer . . . professionally known as Old Sea Brigade. He has slowly released half of the album leading up to today – but now it is in its entirety – all ten songs – we get the album called 5AM Paradise.
